WHY MUSLIMS ARE SO POWERLESS

According to Dr. Farrukh Saleeme (read article below or here), there are an estimated 1,476,233,470 Muslims on the face of the planet:
- One BILLION in Asia, 400 million in Africa, 44 million in Europe and six million in the Americas.
- Every fifth human being is a Muslim;
- For every single(1) Hindu there are two(2) Muslims,
- For every single (1) Buddhist there are two(2)Muslims and
- For every single (1) Jew there are one hundred(100) Muslims.
Here is why:
CAPACITY TO PRODUCE KNOWLEDGE
- There are 57 member-countries of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC). All of them put together have around only 500 universities. (That is) one university for every three million Muslims.
The United States has 5,758 universities and India has 8,407.
In 2004, Shanghai Jiao Tong University compiled an 'Academic Ranking of World Universities. '
Intriguingly, NOT ONE university from Muslim-majority states was in the top-500. - As per data collected by the UNDP, literacy in the Christian world stands at nearly 90 per cent and 15 Christian-majority states have a literacy rate of 100 per cent.
A Muslim-majority state, as a sharp contrast, has an average literacy rate of around 40 per cent.There is NO Muslim-majority state with a literacy rate of 100 per cent.
Some 98 per cent of the 'literates' in the Christian world had completed primary school, while LESS than 50 per cent of the 'literates' in the Muslim world did the same.
Around 40 per cent of the 'literates' in the Christian world attended university while no more than two (2)per cent of the 'literates' in the Muslim world did the same. - Muslim-majority countries have 230 scientists per one million Muslims.
The US has 4,000 scientists per million and Japan has 5,000 per million.
In the entire Arab world, the total number of full-time researchers is 35,000 and there are only 50 technicians per one million Arabs.
In the Christian world there are up to 1,000 technicians per one million.
Furthermore, the Muslim world spends 0.2 per cent of its GDP on research and development, while the Christian world spends around five (5) per cent of its GDP.
CONCLUSION: The Muslim world lacks the capacity to produce knowledge.
CAPACITY TO DIFFUSE KNOWLEDGE
Daily newspapers per 1,000 people and number of book titles per million are two indicators of whether knowledge is being diffused in a society.
- In Pakistan, there are 23 daily newspapers per 1,000 Pakistanis while the same ratio in Singapore is 360.
In the UK, the number of book titles per million stands at 2,000 while the same in Egypt is 20.
CAPACITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE
Exports of high technology products as a percentage of total exports are an important indicator of knowledge application.
- Pakistan's exports of high technology products as a percentage of total exports stands at one per cent. The same for Saudi Arabia is 0.3 per cent; Kuwait, Morocco, and Algeria are all at 0.3 per cent.
- Singapore is at 58 per cent.
- Why are Muslims powerless? Because we aren't producing knowledge.
- Why are Muslims powerless? Because we aren't diffusing knowledge.
- Why are Muslims powerless? Because we aren't applying knowledge.
And, the future belongs to knowledge-based societies.
- The COMBINED annual GDP of 57 OIC-countries is UNDER $2 TRILLION.
- America, just by herself, produces goods and services worth $12 TRILLION; China $8 TRILLION, Japan $3.8 TRILLION and Germany $2.4TRILLION (purchasing power parity basis).
- Oil rich Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait and Qatar collectively produce goods and services (mostly oil) worth $500 Billion;
- Spain alone produces goods and services worth over $1TRILLION,
- Catholic Poland $489 billion and
- Buddhist Thailand $545 billion
(Muslim GDP as a percentage of world GDP is fast declining).
So, why are Muslims so powerless?
Answer: "Lack of education".

You mean Muslims are too stupid to educate themselves.
Well, in Malaysia, for decades the quota system did prop up the education level of Bumiputeras majority whom are Muslims. Muslims in Malaysia can be considered adequately, if not well-educated. Malaysian Muslims surely cannot be falling in the 'lack of education' category? I'm not sure- but could it be our education system which is still based on rot learning/ memorising/ exams instead of progressive, project based, applicable learning.
Anyway the Malaysian system is too pro Islam, too pro Bumiputera. It is racist. Non Malays sell their family houses to send their kids for uni education.

It is not stupid. Ignorant is the correct word.
They are so ignorant even they have the Quran provided to them by God. Actually the Quran asked them to read and not to be ignorant. In other words, to educate themselves but alas, they became ignorant.
They read the al-Fatiha daily and not only once but many times in a day. Do they understand what they utter? Alas, no. Do they practise what they profess? Alas, no again!
The question is WHY are they so ignorant?

Let me tell you how the government load the education system in Malaysia in favour of the Malays. For the sake of argument let's just say that at the primary school level the reason vernacular schools get less resources than national type schools is because they use Chinese or Tamil as the medium of instruction and that this discrimination is fair as it is practiced by many countries in the world as a way to promote the national language. At the secondary school, the discrimination starts to get really intense. Discrimination against the non-Malays in the national examinations is most insidious. The marking scheme for the examination papers are first divided into rural and non-rural school papers. The marking scheme is skewed TOTALLY in favour of the rural schools where I dare say 99% of the students are Malays or Bumiputras. Then all the individual marks are belled according to the ethnic group of the candidate. Needless to say Malays are belled upwards more than others while the Chinese and Indians are actually belled downwards. The same thing actually happens in our public universities' examinations. This discrimination of course explains why some so-called 15As Malay students look and sound like idiots compared to the 5As Indians or Chinese during job interviews. Moreover, it also accounts for the declining world ranking of Malaysian public universities year after year. Most importantly, it also explains why Singapore is more than happy to offer Malaysian non-Malays generous scholarships to study in Singapore. The Singapore government knows that any non-Malay who can walk away with distinctions in Malaysia's public examinations is made of stern stuff from being able to survive the discrimination against non-Malays. Now, I am not saying that there are no Malay students who are actually worth the distinctions they get but because of the bias in the marking system we will never know how good they really are until they prove themselves in the working world. That is another story.
How do I know about the bias in the marking system of our public examinations? I have frieds who sit in very high places in the NUTP. The top echelon of the NUTP was privy to a study on the fairness of the Malaysian marking system for public examinations many years ago. The results of the study was supressed as it was not favourable to the government.
I am a victim of this racist quota system. A blessing in disguise. I am now a technical consultant working in Singapore. The whole Malaysian education system is so corrupted & backward with the so-called quota system that will bring down the standard of education of this beloved country.
