Quote

"...NON-MALAYS to be extra careful with their deeds and words.

Don’t DISTURB and push the MALAYS too much.

Don’t think WE are quiet.

WE can retaliate VERY AGGRESSIVELY.

Bayan Baru UMNO Division Chief

MORE BAD NEWS for GERAKAN /Koh Tsu Koon and MCA /Ong Ka Ting:

WE SAY,

Ong Ka Ting and Koh Tsu Koon must stand up to defend their own credibility and the integrity of decent and patriotic Chinese Malaysians against the onslaught of these highly offensive UMNO RACISTs from the Penang UMNO Divisions, who are making unveiled threats of racial violence against NON-Malays,reminders of May 13, 1969.

Ong Ka Ting and Koh Tsu Koon must now act DECISIVELY against these racial threats and behave as responsible leaders of Component Partner Parties in a Coalition governing the country.

This Ahmad Ismail-racial issue is NO MORE about Ahmad Ismail and his racist Penang UMNO supporters.

It is now about the relevance of GERAKAN and MCA as political parties of choice for Non-Malay voters in the face of extreme racial intimidation, and as senior component partners of UMNO in Barisan Nasional.

It is also a test of the tenability and credibility of their leaders, Koh Tsu Koon and Ong Ka Ting.

The obvious options for Koh Tsu Koon and Ong Ka Ting to take in the eyes of Chinese Malaysians are:

  1. Firstly, to DEMAND in no uncertain terms, that UMNO top leaders should act decisively against these RACIST Penang UMNO DIVISIONAL LEADERS for threatening national security and for inciting racial violence against NON-Malays, particularly against Bayan Lepas Division Chief Mohd Zain Omar, including strong disciplinary action against Ahmad Ismail for his racist remarks, intransigence and his downright arrogance.

  2. Failure to achieve above, they should persuade their membership to move GERAKAN and MCA out of the partnership with UMNO in BARISAN NASIONAL.

  3. Failure to do above, Koh Tsu Koon and Ong Ka Ting should fall on their own swords and resign as President of Gerakan and MCA respectively for leadership weakness in the face of the Penang UMNO's racist taunts.

It is time now for Koh Tsu Koon and Ong Ka Ting to show some semblance of strong leadership by putting national security interests ahead of their personal interests in the party (as for Ong Ka Ting, the concerns of the membership must be paramount against that of the interests of his brother, Ong Ka Chuan).

    Penang Umno backs Ahmad Ismail

    Excerpts: Read
    here for more

Bukit Bendera Umno division chief Ahmad Ismail today reiterated his stand NOT to apologise for his alleged racist remarks against the Chinese community. He is supported by ALL 13 Umno divisions from Penang, including Abdullah Badawi's Kepala Batas Division.

Ahmad Ismail was speaking to a packed press conference held under an intimidating atmosphere with the presence of some 100 Umno members, mostly from Bukit Bendera division, frequently punctuated by racial slurs and threats shouted by them.

The press conference ended with a show of solidarity and strength from local Umno leaders, and shouts of ‘Hidup Melayu’ (long live Malays).

The most intimidating threat came from former Bayan Lepas assemblyperson Mohd Zain, who warned amidst applause from supporters:

“Non-Malays to be extra careful with their deeds and words. Don’t disturb and push the Malays too much. Don’t think we are quiet. We can retaliate very aggressively.

Chinese and Hindus (are) blowing up Muslim conversion issues out of proportion while at the same time, being quiet on Christianity conversion issues.”

Ahmad Ismail did NOT deny his rally speech contained the statement,“Chinese were immigrants squatting in this country.”

Ahmad Ismail called Gerakan acting president Dr Koh Tsu Koon as a “great liar and opportunist”.

Ahmad Ismail also said GERAKAN can always “get out from Barisan Nasional.”

He even claimed BN would not have lost in Penang in the last general election if not for the incompetency of former Chief Minister Koh and Gerakan.

Other local Umno leaders such as state secretary Azhar Ibrahim, Bukit Mertajam division leader Musa Syeikh Fadzir and Bayan Baru division chief Mohd Zain Omar joined Ahmad to rap virtually everyone who objected to Ahmad’s rally speech.

In a clear sign of defiance and internal mutiny over the controversy, Musa hit out at the Umno top leadership for apologising on behalf of the party without checking the facts with Ahmad.

Deputy Prime Minister and Umno deputy president Najib Abdul Razak has already apologised over the issue to Chinese Malaysians on behalf Umno.

The national leadership can have its own stand, but Penang divisional leaders have theirs. we fully back Ahmad on this issue,”
Musa told newsmen, rejecting outrightly Najib's apologetic gesture.

Earlier in the morning, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said it was up to Umno to demonstrate its “sincerity and honesty” in dealing with the matter and taking a strong stand on Ahmad's refusal to apologise for his racist remarks.

"Umno leaders must prove that they are not hypocrites by taking a stern and firm action on Ahmad," the DAP secretary-general told newsmen.
