Australian Sex Party spokeswoman

AUSTRALIA'S sex industry is launching a new political party, The Australian Sex Party, to counter the increasing influence of religious groups in politics and government.

The Australian Sex Party hopes to be up and running by Friday, having secured 500 signatures and registration with the Australian Electoral Commission.

Party spokeswoman and head of the Eros Association, Fiona Patten, said the party planned to campaign on issues such as censorship, the Federal Government's promised internet filter, health benefits for sex workers, gay marriage and paid maternity leave.

Ms Patten said the party hoped to win seats in state upper houses and the Senate using the slogan, "We're serious about sex".

She added,

"We're hoping for at least one Senate seat in the next federal election.

We are concerned about Steve Fielding's power in the Senate - his conservative morals-based position in the Senate threatens the existence of our industry. And who knows what deals Steve Fielding has done in the Senate?

An internet filter will put our legal business out of business. We don't think it is the right way to address child pornography.

We're hoping to eventually become much broader and attract all sorts of people with an interest in law reform, freedom and civil liberties.

We're concerned that religious groups are having an increasing influence on the national debate and there is a encroaching sense censorship and rising wowserism. Basically, should what happens in your bedroom be decided by minority religious lobby groups?

There are all sorts of issues that affect the lives of people in our industry.

Plenty of Aussie voters want to be treated like adults and a new political force will launched this week with our party. The nation's sex shops would become party branches.

If you've had enough of wowserism and political interference in your bedroom, help us make a change and join the Australian Sex Party."

Ms Patten said the nationwide party would initially be formed by members of the sex industry and funding would come from industry groups and businesses.

The party has prepared an advertisment that will initially go on 50,000 DVDs to be given out at the Sexpo convention in Melbourne this week. On the advert, Ms Patten says that Australia now has more censorship of adult entertainment than two decades ago. A longer version will go on all X-rated DVDs sold in Australia.

The national religion of India is "CRICKET", and there is no religion in China. What about Sri Lanka ? Is Buddhism the religion of Sri Lanka or is it hinduism ?

If god is such a big deal then why is it that every body has a different religion ? Is there even a god at all ? In Australia people are attending Church less and less with each passing day. If you want to be Christian in China, nobody is going to stop you, but who in China cares with religion anymore ?

It must be observed that in Malaysia Muslims live in the paradise that we are martyred into; if you sacrifice yourself for your god then you go to heaven; but then who knows if thre is a god ? Therefore why not seek to live a good life on this earth because life is short and we do not know if there is a god. Life on earth is here and now and we know that we are already in shit, why not enjoy while you are still alive and not wait for something that nobody can say if god exist ?

These prosstitutes have the right idea and they represent what is here and now and need for them to protect from religious nutballs ! Therein lies the difference between the secular model for government and others that are religion based. Secular model wants the best government for the people now, but those who thinks that they need to please god want to live a life that will take them to a world that may or more likely may not exist in any shape or form.
A realistic question that needs to be asked is WHY IS IT THAT SINGAPORE today has already reached developed economy status many years ago and they have no need for a national religion, are doing so much better than Malaysia; a nation that wants to achieve developed ecconomy status but is so long away from their ambition to be one ?

Proclaim all you need or have to in your religion. Especially in Malaysia when it comes to the national religion. But permit me to ask whether a Muslim (or Christian, Hindu or Buddhist for that matter) is necessarily any richer, charitable and humane in his heart and thoughts than a non-theist in Malaysia? The answer is fairly obvious. So what's this great mumbo-jumbo about religion? I bet the most religious believers would place the Ringgit factor on top of their priorities than anything else even if they pray several times a day.
