The Joint-Meeting of PAS Central Committee and Ulama Syura (Consultative) Council, on 31st July 2008, decided:

1. PAS will NOT cooperate with UMNO to form a Government, both at State and Federal level
   
   
2. PAS will have talks or discussions with anyone, including political parties, non-governmental organisations, institutions and individuals
   
   
3. PAS is committed to Pakatan Rakyat (PR) and will play an active and positive role to defend the coalition

Setelah berding dong hampir lima bulan, akhirnya Pas mencapai kata sepakat semalam, 31 Julai 2008 dalam mesyuarat bersama marathon selama lima jam tanpa henti dari jam 10 pagi hingga jam 3.00 petang, antara Jawatankuasa Pas Pusat dengan Majlis Syura Ulamak di pejabat Agung Pas Jalan Raja Laut, Kuala Lumpur.

Mereka tidak berhenti makan tengahari sehinggalah mesyuarat itu tamat.

Menjelang mesyuarat ini, pelbagai kenyataan menarik bertebaran di alam maya dan juga dada-dada akhbar serta kaca-kaca tv. Semuanya melahirkan pelbagai jenis spekulasi dan andaian apa akan berlaku dalam mesyuarat bersejarah ini.

Isu-isu Menghadapi Mesyuarat-Bersama (31 Julai 2008) tersebut

Antara kenyataan menarik yang boleh dikumpulkan dalam tempoh pra mesyuarat ini adalah:

1. Pas sedia adakan muqabalah (pertemuan biasa) dengan Umno dan bukan lagi muzakarah.
   
   
2. Pas boleh bergabung dengan Umno dengan syarat kedua-dua parti dibubarkan dan Pas akan menuntut dilaksanakan hukum hudud dan qisas melalui kerjasama parti baru ini. (Ramai yang mengira, ini cara Nik Aziz untuk memaksa Umno menolak gabungan ini)
   
   
3. Ketua Penerangan Pas, Mahfuz Omar menulis surat terbuka memohon maaf kepada semua kerana telah membuat kenyataan sebelum ini tidak ada perbincangan Umno dan Pas padahal ianya disahkan ada kemudiannya oleh Presiden Pas sendiri.
   
   
4. AJK Pas, Mohamed Hanipa Maidin secara terbuka menulis dalam blognya kekesalan beliau dengan pertemuan antara pemimpin Pas dengan Umno dan berjanji akan menuntut penjelasan dalam mesyuarat yang telah berlangsung hari ini.

Kenapa semua ini berlaku? Kenapa sampai kusut masai dan berserabut jadinya parti Islam ini?

Cadangan Pembentukan Kerajaan Persekutuan Pakatan Rakyat dan Soalan Majoriti Bukan Islam

Ia mungkin bermula dengan cadangan untuk membentuk KERAJAAN melalui Pakatan Rakyat (oleh pemimpin de factor PKR, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim).

Bagaimana caranya? Ia hendak dilakukan dengan cara penyemberangan lebih 30 anggota Parlimen dari Barisan Nasional ke Pakatan Rakyat. Sebahagian besarnya adalah anggota Parlimen BUKAN Islam dari Sabah dan Sarawak yang sememangnya tidak berpuashati dengan kerajaan BN.

Inilah mulanya kusut masai dan serabut (haywire) ini.

(Ini bermakna) jumlah angota Parlimen bukan Islam LEBIH RAMAI dari anggota Parlimen beragama Islam dalam kerajaan Pakatan Rakyat nanti.

Sebahagian pemimpin Pas mula mengira kerajaan yang bakal dibentuk nanti adalah bermajoritikan BUKAN Islam.

Apa pandangan pengundi tradisional Pas, iaitu orang Melayu dan Islam? Apabila dasar-dasar kerajaan baru ini mula dilaksanakan, yang sudah tentu mengambil kira kuasa MAJORITI anggota Parlimen yang mendokong kerajaan baru ini.

Bagaimana dengan dasar perjuangan Pas? Kalau dengan DAP pun Pas sudah sentiasa menghadapi masalah, bagaimana mahu berdepan dengan DAP yang nanti disokong oleh majoriti anggota Parlimen yang BUKAN Islam pula.

Inilah dilema Pas.

Jalan Keluar Dari Kekusutan

Lalu, antaranya terfikirlah sebahagian mereka "mengapa tidak dengan Umno... mereka pun hampir setiap hari melambai-lambai tangan agar Pas bersama mereka."

Maka, berdasarkan senario itu berlakulah apa yang berlaku. Secara senyap-senyap SEBAHAGIAN PEMIMPIN tertentu Pas mula mengadakan perjumpaan dengan pemimpin Umno untuk membina jambatan.

Pertemuan pertama mereka dengan Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, telah mendapat gambaran apa yang ditawarkan kepada Pas.

Keraguan Pengundi PAS dengan Pertemuan Pemimpin PAS-UMNO

Selepas berjalan hampir beberapa bulan, nampaknya usaha itu hanya menuju ke dinding.

Ia bakal berdepan dengan keraguan dan kesangsian ahli dan penyokong Pas.

• Kemarahan Pengundi PAS Bukan Islam: Yang paling marah adalah pengundi Pas di kalangan bukan Islam iaitu orang Cina dan India.
  
  Bagi mereka, undi yang diberikan kepada Pas kerana mereka marahkan MIC dan MCA yang berbaik-baik dengan Umno. Umno bagi mereka terlalu busuk dan membusukkan. Selepas mereka memberikan undi kepada Pas tiba-tiba parti Islam ini didapati bermain mata dengan Umno pula.
  
  
• Kemarahan Anggota Parlimen PAS: Kemarahan mereka banyak dirasai oleh beberapa anggota Parlimen Pas yang menang di kawasan ramainya pengundi India dan Cina.
  
  Antaranya Dr Mariah Mahmud (Kota Raja), Dr Lo' Lo' Mohd Ghazali (Titiwangsa), Dr Mujahid Yusof (Parit Buntar) yang juga pemimpin Pas yang mengendalikan Kelab Penyokong Pas dan juga Mahfuz Omar (Pokok Sena).

Kepecahan Baru Kepimpinan PAS

Lalu, lahirlah apa yang dinamakan sebagai “lanskap baru” kepimpinan politik Pas.

Kalau dahulu, pemimpin Pas dipecahkan melalui ulamak dan profesional dan beberapa lebel lagi, lanskap baru ini sudah memecahkan segala tembok pemisah itu.

Ia sudah menjadi pro muzakarah dengan anti muzakarah. Istilah muzakarah sudah dianggap usaha atau perbincangan untuk berkongsi kuasa dengan Umno manakala mereka yang anti muzakarah pula tidak bersetuju untuk berkongsi kuasa dengan Umno.

Keputusan Tamat Pemimpin PAS

Mesyuarat lima jam 31 Julai di Jalan Raja Laut telah membolehkan pemimpin Pas menilai kembali apa yang mereka lakukan sepanjang 8 Mac hingga 31 Julai hari ini.

Segalanya sudah diletakkan di atas meja mesyuarat pada 31 Julai hari ini. Semuanya sudah diceritakan dan tidak ada sembunyi-sembunyi lagi. Setelah menganalisa burok dan baiknya, Presiden Pas dengan ditemani Setiausaha Agung dan Ketua Muslimat mengeluarkan kenyataan berikut:

1. Tidak akan ada kerjasama dengan Umno untuk membentuk kerajaan.
   
   
2. Pertemuan boleh dan akan dilakukan dengan sesiapa saja tanpa mengira siapa mereka.
   
   
3. Pas komited dengan Pakatan Rakyat dan akan bergiat aktif dan positif untuk mempertahankannya.

Kickdefella (Syed Azidi Syed Abdul Aziz) had an interesting conversation this morning with YB Mohd. Nasir Mustapha, PAS State Assemblyman for N16 Kubang Rotan in Kedah.

“It is not just the voters but I myself too felt betrayed by this development,” as he relates to me how he had to explain the decisions made by certain quarters in PAS who are abusing PAS to talk to Abdullah Ahmad Badawi for ‘the sake of Malay and Islam’.

Kubang Rotan has about 39% non-Malay voters and it is obvious from election result that the non-Malays were the one who have given PAS the seat.

Details from the election result shows that PAS lost in most of the majority Malay areas within the constituency but managed to quipped UMNO’s Nordin Salleh by a majority of 1,367 thanks to the non Muslim areas which has thrown an unprecedented overwhelming support for PAS.

Mohd. Nasir has been unusually busy for the past few days because the non Muslim has flooded his operation centre demanding an explanation for the continuous remarks by PAS leadership especially Ustaz Nasharuddin Mat Isa defending the Malay Unity Talks and cooperation.

Mohd Nasir also begged certain leaders in PAS to go and take ‘a rest’ so the Party can continue it’s effort to fight for the people and justice for all.

“Not all UMNO members are happy with this talks, only those from Abdullah’s camp are the ones who wanted this to succeed, obviously, it is for their political survival, the rest, especially here in Kedah are against it,” Mohd Nasir recalled his conversation with one Dato’ who is also a Division Head in Kedah.

Pakatan Rakyat is a platform dreaded by the ruling elites of Malaysia and as such it must be PROTECTED until change comes to our land.

It CANNOT be said in any other way.

At this juncture of our country’s history, anyone, and mean ANYONE, who advocates the break-up of Pakatan Rakyat, is either a MOLE within the Pakatan Rakyat or a staunch and die-hard supporter of UMNO/BN.

The country is at near to a point where the Malay-Elites of this country aka UMNOPUTRA is about to lose grip on the country’s levers of power. For once, there is a strong possibility that UMNOPUTRA’s will be relegated from an elite class to becoming commoners like you and me.

For the first time in history, the running of this country will be determined by sons of daughters of commoners, laborers, clerks fishermen etc in contrast to the UMNOPUTRA’s.

The UMNPUTRAS trace their linage from the class of people of whom the British handed over our country’s independence to. At the point of our independence, they were the Malays either from the royalty or people who served under the British as their employees.

They have historically resided in UMNO and have all this while formed the backbone of UMNO.

Of course, now they are distributed in various sectors such as Civil Service, corporate sector, and also politics. They are the preferred people of whom contracts and opportunities are awarded to in this country.

The rest of us are mere “peasants” living to serve their interest.

However, now that arrangement is about to change. The people that will take over the country’s helm will not come from their class anymore. They are people whom are sons of daughters of the common people.

Destruction of Pakatan Rakyat is Their Immediate Goal

The UMNOPUTRA has begun to see the writing on the wall. Their leadership of this country is numbered unless they do something drastic. The best way to do that now is to destroy the only alternative to the settings that has promised them to hold on power all this while, the Barisan Nasional.

That alternative is Pakatan Rakyat.

And the destruction of Pakatan Rakyat is a sure way of maintaining the UMNOPUTRA’s grip on power and wealth of this country.

Why is this so?

The Pakatan Rakyat is the only force strong enough to deliver the death blow to Barisan Nasional.

Pakatan Rakyat has everything that Barisan Nasional has for a credible coalition i.e a candidate for Prime Minister, multi racial, multi cultural etc.

Pakatan Rakyat also has what Barisan Nasional can never have, policies that benefit the mass rather than the few elites, commitment towards eradication of corruption and abuse, and economic policies that will result in the country becoming more prosperous.

I expect that rate of investment into Malaysia will quadruple immediately after Pakatan Rakyat takes over.

I do not care who, or from where a call is coming from. Whether it’s Karpal Singh of DAP or Mustafa Ali of PAS.

Any party leader advocating the break-up of Pakatan Rakyat at this juncture is a potential mole.

To make such call, is at the very least, a sign of abject ignorance and at the very most, a sign that he/she is a mole for Barisan Nasional. I applaud the Menteri Besar of Perak, Datuk Haji Ir Nizar for rejecting the Barisan Nasional call to form a “unity”government.

I am also encouraged with the recent development of Perak which I was informed of recently. It seems Ezam and UMNO’s attempt to tempt PKR’s ADUN is failing, and the PKR ADUN for Changkat Jering has openly declared that he will jump to UMNO and Barisan Nasional.

Also, it seems that internal strive is still effecting UMNO in Perak as Tajol Rosli’s people have known that Tajol will not be retained as MB.
