UMNO Youth Invites PAS Youth to Defend Ketuanan Melayu under the Disguise of Defending Islam

Quote:

“In airing dissent publicly, we (Pakatan Rakyat) must refrain from acrimony and when castigating fellow members, we must avoid the language of expulsion and exclusion.

We must realize that the practise of democracy entails recognition of self-imposed restraints like tempering speech and action with prudence

An imperious attitude amongst us (read: PAS and DAP) ill-suits a coalition striving to convince the public that we can provide governance that is transparent and accountable."

UMNO Youth Chief Khairy to PAS Youth Chief Nasrudin Hassan: Join UMNO Youth to Criticise DAP and Defend Islam

The Umno Youth today invited PAS Youth to be together in Shah Alam on Aug 14 to lash out at certain parties that had been insulting Islam.

UMNO Youth Chief Khairy Jamaluddin said he had personally contacted PAS Youth chief Nasaruddin Hasan Tantawi on the matter.

He said, "Umno Youth will organise a ‘ceramah perdana’ in Shah Alam, Selangor next Friday to counter the (DAP) insults against Islam and I am inviting PAS Youth to be with us on the Umno Youth stage that night."

Khairy Jamaluddin said UMNO Youth wanted to see to what extent PAS Youth would go to criticise its coalition partner, the DAP, which was becoming more bold in insulting Islam lately.

Selangor PAS information chief Roslan Shahrir had said wide protest will be organised by PAS against the sale of beer in Muslim-majority areas.

Hassan Ali's Secret Ambition to be Selangor Menteri Besar under BN/UMNO Govt

The DAP blamed for its dispute with PAS in Selangor on Selangor PAS Commissioner Hassan Ali by suggesting that Hassan Ali had acted recklessly in the interest of Umno and Barisan Nasional (BN).

Selangor PAS Commissioner Hassan Ali was involved in SECRET TALKS last year with Umno .

It became public knowledge that PAS and Umno top leaders had held discussions and negotiations after the severe losses by Umno at last year’s general election. Most of PAS grassroots members were kept in the dark of the secret talks.

During their brief rendezvous, UMNO dangled the carrot to Nasharuddin Mat Isa on him being appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Hassan Ali appointed Selangor Mentri Besar. These very juicy positions have swayed the aqidah (faith) of these PAS leaders until now.Read here for more

Ronnie Liu had recently ordered Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam (MBSA) officers to return beer unlawfully seized from a convenience outlet. And the Shah Alam Mayor HAD acknowledged the seizures were UNLAWFUL.

But Ali Hassan had used the seizures to call for Liu's removal and start a campaign urging the state government to ban all open sales of alcoholic beverages in "Muslim-majority" areas.

DAP will be handing over a recommendation letter today to the PR top leadership to set up a disciplinary committee at the next available opportunity and refer Hassan to the committee.

Pua said:

"State government leaders who openly defy party and coalition discipline and work in the interest of Umno and Barisan National must be harshly reprimanded, with stern action taken to not only ensure the continued viability of the Pakatan Rakyat coalition but also to restore public confidence in Pakatan Rakyat.

Dr Hassan Ali’s reckless actions, which were taken without any consultation with either the state executive council or the state Pakatan Rakyat leadership, firmly begs the question of his hidden agenda. What I’m talking about is what everyone is talking about. Everyone knows he (Hassan Ali) has ambitions.

We have an excellent relationship with PAS at the FEDERAL level, but we are completely perplexed on how things are happening in Selangor which is different from the relationship at the federal level which is almost like we are dealing with two different parties altogether."

Pua also told reporters that PAS was free to conduct any form of campaign against the sale of beer because DAP did not have the right to tell PAS what to do.

However, Pua said he felt that PAS should hold protests which could strengthen PR rather than those which were detrimental to the coalition.
