Former MCA vice president Datuk Fong Chan Onn urged the party's central leadership to reverse the decision to sack deputy president Datuk Dr Chua Soi Lek.

He added that Dr Chua was elected by the central delegates after his past history became public knowledge and the former health minister had even apologised for what he did.

MCA president Ong Tee Keat announced that the presidential council had endorsed the recommendation of the party's disciplinary committee to sack Chua Soi Lek for damaging MCA's reputation due to his sex scandal.

In his blog, Chua said that the decision against him was not a surprise "because there has been a sustained attempt by the MCA president to subvert the wishes of the rank and file and end my political career".

When asked if he will be appealing against any decision taken today, he said he will consider when the decision is officially handed down.

He also replied with a flat "No" when asked if he was joining the opposition after he was sacked. Read here for more in malaysiakini

The Malaysian Insider reported that Najib was shocked at the decision, as are other Umno and BN leaders, as many of them feel that an MCA on a path of destruction is the last thing the ruling coalition needs.

Ong has denied being behind the decision to dredge up his deputy’s sex scandal even though the party’s disciplinary committee had decided early this month to go ahead with a hearing despite the fact that the complainant had withdrawn the allegation.

The tough action against Dr Chua today will be seen as an attempt by Ong to shore up his own position as there are now rumblings within the MCA against him for dragging the party into the PKFZ saga.

Yesterday, six party divisions in Perak openly called for Ong to be suspended over the allegations that Tiong had donated the RM10 million. Read here for more in Malaysian Insider

otherwise their words are useless to listen to

papers like yours should start to list all existing lawyer berok and tinted people to be voted out on next election days in PRU13
