Malaysian Police Turned into Nazi Gestapo Police in Restricting Freedom of Speech in a Democratic Election Process

UPDATED: 18.50 - 31st March

Excerpts:

In the run-up to the Bukit Gantang by-election on April 7, the police has restricted PKR on the issues it can raise at its daily ceramah.

According to a state PKR leader, the police have imposed several conditions to PKR when approving their permits for the ceramah.

Among the main restrictions are:

  1. No instigating the crowd by questioning the Perak sultan's decision

  2. No mention of the Altantuya issue must be made

  3. No racial and religious issues can be raised

  4. PKR must ensure that the crowd at its ceramah is confined to the area where the event is being held.
On the other hand, PAS, whose candidate Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin is contesting for the by-election, has not been restricted from raising these issues.

It is learnt that PAS was only told to stop their ceramah by 11pm so that it would not be a disturbance in the kampung areas.

The Altantuya issue has been used by the opposition, especially the PKR, to implicate Najib in the death of the Mongolian national, a charge which the Umno politician has repeatedly denied.

And as in previous election campaigns, several posters of Altantuya and Najib have already found its way to Bukit Gantang.

Altantuya Shaariibuu's remains were found scattered in a jungle reserve in Shah Alam, Selangor on Oct 19, 2006.

Two special elite policemen who are bodyguards to VIPs including Najin are facing murder charge, of which a decision is expected early next month.

At the same time, the opposition has also been highlighting the manner in which Perak Umno, led by Najib, had ‘stolen' the state government from Pakatan. They have also questioned the manner an Umno man was named as the new menteri besar.

Subsequently, Mohd Nizar refused to step down as menteri besar after he was ordered to do so by the Perak sultan, a move which had earned him the reputation of committing derhaka (treason) against the sultan.

Meanwhile in Bukit Selambau, it is learnt that one of the restrictions imposed on political parties was that all ceramah must be held indoors.

    Eloklah kita persoalkan

    • Kenapakah Isu Altantuya diharamkan?

    • Manakah logiknya.

    • Kenapa begitu sensitif hingga polis terpaksa mengambil tindakan sedemikian?

    • Siapakah yang memerintah polis lakukan sedemikian? Najib?

    • Kenapa tidak boleh disebut sebut nama Altantuya?

    • Adakah pihak Polis menyokong pembunuh Altantuya lakukan kegiatan membunuh Altantuya?

    • Dimanakah letaknya sistem demokrasi berpalimen Malaysia. adakah Polis ingin jadikan Malaysia sebagai POLICE STATE?

    Sacrilegious?

I can understand not to mention or ridicule the Sultan of Perak decision on the Perak crisis but why would mentioning Altantuya name is now considered sacrilegious.

If the Home Ministry acted on this just to carry balls of the new PM than it certainly is not good news for Najib and UMNO. Not a good move at all.

Anwar Ibrahim and the oppositions can say umpteen times her name and till kingdom come, if he is innocent he should not worry.

He should take them to the cleaners, otherwise, it wouldn't stop.

    APRIL MONKEYS

In the run-up to the April 7 by-elections, the opposition is now barred from bringing up a number of controversial issues including the murder of Mongolian national Altantuya Shaariibuu in their electoral campaign.

This was announced by Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar, probably as his last hurrah if he cannot make it into incoming premier Najib's "dream team". (Read the Malaysiakini report, here).

This must really take the cake especially since the poor dead woman's name is now already well known in every town and kampung in this country.

My old classmate Dr Nik Azam in Kelantan writes of his kampung coconut plucker who has named his female monkey "Altantuya" and happens to be a staunch "dacing" or BN supporter.

Not to be outdone, his only business rival in the same kampung who is a "bulan" or PAS supporter has named his male monkey "Razak Baginda".

Now what will our men in blue make of this?

Haris Ibrahim of People's Parliament to Rocky's Bru aka Ahirudin Atan: Don't Mislead Malaysians on Bukit Gantang By-Election

Ahirudin Atan headlined his article on his Rocky's Bru blog, "Bukit Gantang by-election: Anwar vs the Sultan"

    Quote:

    From People's Parliament Blog:

".. The Bukit Gantang by-election is NOT a contest between Anwar and the Sultan.

    Simply, its about PEOPLE POWER.

....the Constitution bestows on the people to determine who shall govern, the majority of the people of Perak decided that they had had enough of BN and voted for change. And so, the Pakatan Rakyat state government of Perak was born by the will of the majority of the people of Perak.

Not by the prerogative of the Sultan, but the WILL of the people.Yes, the majority of the people of Perak rejected BN and its arrogant disregard of the wishes and needs of the people.

The people of Bukit Gantang, for and on behalf of every decent Perakian, on the other hand, would now have the opportunity to make known to their constitutional monarch that, either by reason of being ill-informed or ill-advised, His Majesty had erred.

Whether His Majesty responds appropriately thereafter remains to be seen.

And a vote in favour of Nizar over the BN candidate would send home the strongest of signals to every institution established under the federal and every state constitution : that the WILL of the PEOPLE may be delayed, but can NEVER be forever denied.

That, in my view, is the significance of the Bukit Gantang by-election. ..."

Ahirudin Attan wrote in his Rocky's Bru blog:

"Bukit Gantang by-election: Anwar vs the Sultan
    ....
A Pakatan Rakyat victory at Bukit Gantang can and will be used as proof, beyond any doubt, that Sultan Azlan Shah should not have given back the state of Perak to Barisan Nasional. That the HRH's decision was against the wishes of his people, who want PR and not BN to represent them.

Fielding Nizar in Bukit Gantang is a political statement. If he wins, the former Perak MB, hailed by some as the modern Hang Jebat for his "mohon derhaka" antic, would be seen as having won not just against the BN but, more importantly, against the Sultan. It will prove that this Jebat Moden was right and that the Sultan had wronged him.Defeat is unthinkable.

PR has won all by-elections since March 2008 and is the incumbent for constituency. Also, BN victory in Bukit Gantang will be seen as the people's support not just for the Sultan but also for Najib Razak, who's expected to be sworn in as our 6th Prime Minister on April 3, just four days before the three by-elections. From Haris Ibrahim of People's Parliament blog

    Excerpts from People's Parliament blog:

A certain blogger (read: Rocky's Bru) has it that the Bukit Gantang by-election is really a contest between Anwar and the Sultan.

Clearly, this blogger, whilst steeped in experience in the media industry, having served UMNO-owned and controlled newspapers for a long, long time, does not quite appreciate the divisions of power within our constitutional set up.

Or maybe this blogger suffered a lapse of memory, thinking he was still writing for the UMNO-owned newspapers.

No, the Bukit Gantang by-election is not a contest between Anwar and the Sultan.

    Simply, its about people power.

You see, a little over a year ago, Malaysians went to the polls and inflicted a painful lesson on BN such as it had never suffered before.

The people of Perak, too, wanted change.

And through that power that the constitution bestows on the people to determine who shall govern, the majority of the people of Perak decided that they had had enough of BN and voted for change.

And so, the Pakatan Rakyat state government of Perak was born by the will of the majority of the people of Perak.

Not by the prerogative of the Sultan, but the will of the people.

Yes, the majority of the people of Perak rejected BN and its arrogant disregard of the wishes and needs of the people.

We all know now what followed.

Nizar asked for a dissolution of the assembly and for fresh state elections.

Najib asked that BN be allowed to form the new state government.

And in the crisis that ensued, so many Perakians beseeched His Majesty not to do that which would deny them their government of choice.

    Sadly, their pleas went unheard.

And so, with the installation of BN as the new state government, the voice and the will of the people of Perak that had spoken on 8th March, 2008, was silenced.

And then, almost as if some divine force had heard the cries of the people, Bukit Gantang fell vacant.

A seat won by BN Pakatan at the last elections was to be contested.

    1. Rocky, your timing is dammed good time to join the MSM.If not mistaken NSTP ,the juicy post is waiting for you.So "bodek" as much as you can now ,the chances for the post is bright.

    2. Dah mula la si Rocky ni nak menipu dan menghasut orang Melayu dan rakyat jelata...Dah habis saja Najib kena lantik jadik Presiden UMNO, maka dengan beriya iya lah si Rocky ni menipu secara terbuka demi mendapat naungan dari Najib.Hotak kau la Rocky. Bila pulak kemenangan Pakatan tu maksudnya kekalahan Sultan?Yang penting sekali ialah sama ada rakyat menang atau rakyat kalah. Bukan soal Sultan kalah atau Sultan menang. Lagi lagi pilihanraya ni takde kaitan pun dengan Sultan Perak.Rocky, Rocky, bila la ko nak insaf... bila la ko nak jadi Muslim yg baik...

    3. Rocky's writings resembles the Utusan writers in the 60s that spark race riots in malaysia & singapore. In fact, Rocky should be put under ISA or at least sedition act for inciting hatred.

    4. Dear Rocky, kalau nak cari makanpun jangan ini macam. Engkau dah kebulur ke atau susah sangat nak hidup sampai sanggup jadi "pelacur".

    5. Why Anwar vs Sultan? are you suggesting something? So sinister le...it should be PR vs BN(brg naik)

    6. You got it wrong again, Rocky. There was a daulat Tuanku banner from the Opposition. See the link below at timecode 1.29.32. http://www.malaysiakini.tv/video/16872.html

    7. Mahathirism come back very quickly eh Rocky? maybe NST should give you the editor post so you could give good spin for Najib.

    8. How would you justify calling Nizar "former MB"? The way I see it, we have 2 MBs in Perak now. Who is the legal one will be decided in court. Calling Nizar as "former MB" is premature...

    9. I am lost for words, you have truly sold out. Haven't you learned anything after Mukhriz lost? Now you are trying to pit PR against the Sultan. I am truly disgusted by your attitude. In my heart I know that people are not stupid enough to fall for your propaganda. Anyhow I will stop visiting your blog from today onwards. You are no different then NST, (which you seem to hate) Utusan, The Star and other main stream media.

    10. It's the rakyat vs UMNO.It's not about the sultan, but the will of the people, and it's UMNO arrongance that has caused it's rise.It is obviously UMNO's battle to win. Let's not get entangled into UMO type Anwar bashing.UMNO, if it truly represents the will of the people, will have asked for the people's mandate but has stubbornly refused. Why? Is UMNO afraid?

    11. Anwar vs the Sultan? I like that. As much as the headline was simply the creation of a hateful mind, the fact remains Perakians are offended by what has happened. Don't show early signs of buffoonery like the one you displayed during the fight between Khairy and Mukhriz, only to be defeated badly and a total one for that by a man you reviled and threw even the sink at him. I'm sorry Mukhriz lost bcoz that may have gotten you a secretarial job or something of the sort. The voters irrespective of race can through the charade of Sultan this Sultan that. They will once again prove that they are too intelligent for spin and dirty work by dirty minds. Wa inna ghadan li-nadhirihi qarib (The one who is waiting for 2moro, 2moro is nigh).

    12. Your spinning is unthinkable!!! What was the word used by MB Nizar when he had an audience with Tuanku Sultan? Don't mislead people!!! though you enjoy with your drink but be responsible and remember brother "jangan mereka cerita kerana itu fitnah" .Write something positive la and I thought you are better than what you are doing now. What's up?

    13. Rocky, you have deliberately misled the rakyat with your heading words in this post. Maybe you see it fit for whatever purpose but it's clear you are no longer maintaining the neutral stand which you had earlier set out in your mission. Why should it be an 'Anwar v the Sultan'? There is credible public perception UMNO and Najib had exerted some pressure on the Sultan's decision. Yet you had made this out on PKR and Anwar to be the fall guys. In many ways, this is highly misleading. Is it not shameful on you to distort and misrepresent the situation? I had stated my case. It's your turn to refute.

    14. Roc, you slimy worm, you are trying to whirl and twirl on the sentiments
of the malays, using the sultan's name. This by election is about fairness and justice...no need to embarrass the sultan any further.Trying to build your bridge with Mongolian C4? Good try!

    15. What is also important is that Bukit Gantang is a malay majority area. Like Kuala Trengganu, A loss by BN will be an indication that the malay has rejected UMNO.

    16. Vs The Sultan? Why make it such that the innocent people of Perak may have to carry this extra burden having to worry if they might be betraying their Sultan or might be treasonous if they were to vote for Pakatan? This is also cruel against the Sultan if he feels that his fate has been put into the hands of the people. Is this his or is it a BN effort? Whether they win or lose, the BN wins then is it? And yet, all of a sudden this is now an Anwar Vs the Sultan battle!! What perverted and convoluted mind makes this to be so is indeed a wonder. If it is this kind of mindset that is to lead Malaysia in under a week, then certainly my concerns are for the country and its people.

    17. Now you truly show your racism and gutter political schism.is that how UMNO gonna win by fanning hatred thru your blog-Anwar against the Sultan? Thanks Rocky. now at least I know your character.and this is the last time I will visit your blog.
Special bunch, this is your buddy.

    18. Is this what we call dragging Sultan into politics? God bless Rocky.

    19. This ROCKY has already turned villian! He is no difference with the umno goons, and most of all a hypocritic lallang. He is not an intelletual with principles like RPK and can be easily bought off. As a matter of fact, he has been bought off in view of what he has been writing lately. He has lost the respect of most bloggers, belive me. Now, he is writing to "ampu" the real enemies of rakyat and to "racun" the mind of his readers.

    20. Come on Rocky, i was an ardent fan of your blog once, well, not anymore, you are no better than those fanning racial and unethical blogging. Why Anwar VS Sultan, thats hitting below the belt, low and insulting. Whats in for you, money, position, wealth or just bud. I believe a whole bunch of us here. Well the good thing is, its better now than later that you showed your true colours.

    21. I don't quite understand why they all very angry at Rocky Bru's article. Isn't this the truth? Didn't the Phakatan Rakyat leaders said at the time that they wanted to put Nizar to contest Bukit Gantang to show that the rakyat is behind Nizar and not HRH Sultan Azlan? I remember someone wrote that Bukit Gantang MP died beause it was divine intervention, GOD wanted to let Nizar fight for his good name, or something like that.

Mahathir Says UMNO Youth Elected a CORRUPT UMNO Youth Chief

    Quote:

"... Pemuda UMNO secara langsung dan terbuka merestui politik rasuah.

Mereka memilih sebagai ketua mereka seorang yang telah didapati bersalah menggunakan wang dan sogokan dalam usahanya untuk dipilih sebagai Ketua Pemuda.

Pemuda telah merosakkan imej UMNO dan imej orang Melayu sendiri.

Rupa-rupanya duit lebih utama daripada bangsa dan negara." Read here for more
    Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad,
    Bekas Presiden UMNO

Read here for more in Malaysian Insider and Malaysiakini

In a post on his blog, Dr Mahathir Mohamad, a former UMNO President, said that he did not attend the opening of the Umno general assembly yesterday because Umno Youth openly sanctioned money politics by electing Khairy.

Mahathir wondered whether the rest of Malaysia would accept a leader like Khairy. He was unhappy that Khairy was let off with a warning by the disciplinary board while Malacca Chief Minister Datuk Ali Rustam was barred from contesting the deputy president's position for breaching party ethics.

    He said,

"Umno Youth openly and directly endorsed corruption.

They picked as their leader someone who was found guilty of using money and other inducements in his effort to get elected as the head of Umno Youth.

Never before has a person who has been acknowledged as corrupt by the party disciplinary board, by the party and the public being elected and hailed as the leader.

The punishment meted on this person is inadequate and unfair because others found guilty of a similar offence were barred from contesting

UMNO Youth has sullied the image of the party and the Malays. It appears that money is more important than one's race and country.

The PM should not talk about rejecting corrupt leaders because his son-in-law who is corrupt has been given special treatment.

This episode will further erode the people's confidence in Umno."

Dr Mahathir's comments are probably borne out of frustration of being unable to convince party delegates to end Khairy's political career in Umno.

(Dr Mahathir's) venom was aimed directly at Khairy Jamaluddin, the politician who defeated Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir on the way to becoming the Umno Youth chief.

Some of the vitriol was also sprayed on the youth wing and Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, both whom he accused of turning a blind eye to corruption in Umno.

Dr Mahathir's tirade is likely to widen the rift in Umno Youth following Khairy's victory on Wednesday and appeared designed to put pressure on Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to exclude Abdullah's son-in-law from the Cabinet.

If allowed to fester, this bad blood could have an impact on the three by-elections as well as force a confrontation between some Umno leaders and Dr Mahathir.

In the run-up to the party elections, he attacked Khairy repeatedly and cautioned the 790 Umno Youth delegates against voting for him, labeling him as corrupt.

His campaign did not bear dividends and his son polled 230 votes to finish third behind Khairy and former Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Dr Khir Toyo.

Hounding Abdullah and Khairy has become a preoccupation for the former prime minister, who has identified the both of them as the villains who undermined his legacy.

    STAR reported:

MCA Youth is relieved that Umno Youth has handed over the keris that was the centre of the keris-waving controversy to its outgoing chief Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein for personal safekeeping.

MCA Youth national chairman Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong said that Hishammuddin’s kissing of the keris yesterday at the Umno general assembly could not be likened to his brandishing of it at the 2006 assembly.

Although Umno Youth could not omit the keris ceremony during their assembly, Hishammuddin understood the consequences of waving the keris and had conducted it in a more understated manner to express his love for his culture. He has shown that he is concerned about the feelings of all Malaysians,” Dr Wee said in a statement yesterday.
    (The Star, 26 March 2009)

    QUOTE:

"For your information, Cina bodoh, Malays DO NOT wave the keris.

    Look at that picture again.

The keris has been drawn and the faggot is kissing it.

That, my dear Cina bodoh, is an act of aggression. No need to wave one! Take out enough mah! Drawing or un-sheathing the keris is an act of aggression.

And here we have these MCA idiots happy that Umno Youth just took out the keris and kissed it but did not wave it.

It is just like the Ghurkhas un-sheathing the Kukri. Once they un-sheath it then it must draw blood. And if they can’t bathe the Kukri in their enemy’s blood then they are supposed to cut their finger and allow the blood to touch the Kukri before sheathing it again.

So why are you so ecstatic that Hishammuddin did not wave the keris?

Bodoh punya Cina. MCA is Umno’s running dog and Umno tells the Chinese to go back to China and the Chinese support MCA."
    -Raja Petra Kamarudin

Can you see the TWO keris on the Umno logo above? Yes, two.

The keris is not only a symbol of the dominant party in Barisan Nasional; it is also a symbol of Malay pride and dignity.

Have you ever seen an official photograph of any Ruler without a keris either in hand or tucked in his waist? And what would a Malay wedding be without the traditional tanjak and keris (unless you ran away to Thailand to secretly marry the Sultan’s daughter)?

For your information, Cina bodoh, Malays DO NOT wave the keris.

I mean, it is just so un-Malay to wave anything -- unless it is an envelope with RM1,000 in it just before the Umno General Assembly. So why are you so ecstatic that Hishamuddin did not wave the keris?

When you see an enemy you are supposed to just un-sheath the keris. That is why, in the old days, when you had an audience with the Sultan, you tied a ribbon around the keris. This was a sign you would not draw the keris -- which means you do not intend to harm the Sultan.

It’s like what my horny old friend used to tell me. “Once I take out my weapon then I must stab something before putting it back into my pants.” Hey, I did say he was a horny old friend. And what’s worse than a D.O.M., if you know what I mean?

Look at that picture again. The keris has been drawn and the faggot is kissing it. That, my dear Cina bodoh, is an act of aggression. No need to wave one! Take out enough mah!

And here we have these MCA idiots happy that Umno Youth just took out the keris and kissed it but did not wave it.

Aiyah, MCA, who are you trying to kid? You bloody Umno running dog.

I know you are trying to do damage control here. You are trying to make it appear like Umno Youth has mellowed and is no longer a threat to the Chinese because they did not WAVE the keris.

Okay, they drew their keris. They even kissed it. But they did not wave it. So all is peachy and honky dory.

    Hah! Bodoh punya Cina MCA.

You think the Chinese buy this damage control spin or what? You should have just kept quiet. No need to say anything. Diam saja cukup.

Now that you open you mouth and lick Umno’s balls how do you think that makes you look? It makes you look like a ball-licking Umno running dog.

At least, in the previous years, you made some noise -- okay, a very small noise -- whenever Umno Youth took out their keris. Now you open your mouth and say, “Hooray! Umno Youth did not wave the keris this year.”

Do you know there are millions more keris all over the country? I myself own more than ten. My grandfather used to own more than 1,000.

Okay, so Hishamuddin is taking that one stupid keris home as a keepsake. But there are a million more from where that came from. And how do you know that one or more of those one million will not emerge and be waved around if the Chinese ‘kurang ajar’?

It is time MCA stopped playing the role of ball-licker and running dog to Umno. Hey, I am not even Chinese. Okay, I may not be ‘proper’ Malay as well.

But I am certainly not Chinese. Yet even I dah menyampah with MCA.

And why do the Chinese still support MCA?

Bodoh punya Cina. MCA is Umno’s running dog and Umno tells the Chinese to go back to China and the Chinese support MCA.

    Bodoh punya Cina!

    Bodoh punya India!

Every time these ex-MIC Indians open their mouths it must be about Indian rights, Indian interests, hak India, kepentingan India, and whatnot.

These Indians are just like the Umno chaps, minus the little rusted curved knives. These ex-MIC Indians and the Umno chaps are like pinang dibelah dua, or, as the English would say, like two peas in a pod.

Enough of all this Indian this and Indian that! Who the shit cares about Indian rights and Indian interests?

We are fighting for Malaysian rights and Malaysian interests. It is Ketuanan Rakyat. Not Ketuanan India just like Ketuanan Melayu a la Umno.

There are three by-elections coming soon -- one each in Perak, Kedah and Sarawak.

While there appears to be no problems thus far in Perak and Sarawak, it looks like Kedah is going to face problems even before Nomination Day. And the problem is as follows.

The Indians are not happy with Pakatan Rakyat’s choice of candidate and they will probably boycott or sabotage the by-election if they don’t get their way.

Okay, I have no problems with that. After all, most of the Indians, the majority of them, are all ex-MIC supporters anyway. This means they have kepala otak MIC. They think like MIC and throw tantrums like MIC and demand this and that like MIC. That is to be expected.

But what is unsettling is the way the Indians constantly talk about Indian this and Indian that. I know that people from Italy are called Italians, people from Germany are called Germans, people from Russia are called Russians, people from China are called Chinese, people from India are called Indians, and so on and so forth. Therefore, it goes without saying that people from Malaysia are called Malaysians. But those Malaysians whose forefathers came to Malaysia from India in the 1850s to around 1920 or so still want to be known as Indians even though they and their parents were all born in Malaysia.

Read my lips, very slowly. Those born in Malaysia are Malaysians while those born in India are Indians. You can’t be born in Malaysia and yet still be Indians. Get it? Or must I repeat that?

I once had an argument with a Hindraf supporter and he tried to impress upon me that the Indians need to be represented and they need an Indian to represent them. I asked this chap whether he is Indian and he replied that he is. Then go back to India, I told him. Indians live in India. Malaysians live in Malaysia. He then corrected himself and said that he is a Malaysian.

In that case, I replied, why do you want an Indian to represent you? Can’t I, a Malay, be your representative? Why must it be an Indian? I too can represent the Indians and serve the Indians.

This Hindraf chap then asked me how I would feel if an Indian represented me. Considering I am Malay, can I accept an Indian Prime Minister? Of course I can, I replied. In fact, I accepted an Indian Prime Minister for 22 years. The only thing is I never saw him as an Indian or even addressed him as an Indian. I just addressed him as Datuk Seri (now Tun) Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

I am not the problem, I told this chap. You are. You look at things from an Indian perspective. I look at it from a Malaysian perspective. Anwar Ibrahim is half-Indian. Wan Azizah, according to Umno, is half-Chinese. I am half-Malay. Many of my very close friends and relatives are half this or half that. But we never, I repeat never, address each other or look at each other through coloured lenses. We are absolutely and thoroughly colour-blind.

I would like to pack all those who shout and scream that they are Indians into a tongkang and send them back to India where they belong.

R.A.H.M.A.N Prophesy: Najib may NOT be the 6th Prime Minister

The RAHMAN prophesy had held true for 39 years since the elevation of Tun Abdul Razak as the second Prime Minister in September 1970.

It has accurately predicted four prime ministers after the first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman.

The RAHMAN prophesy is reaching its last leg of its prediction with the letter "N" .

There is no reason why the RAHMAN prophesy would not hold true for its last prediction (the last letter “N” of RAHMAN) for the 6th Prime Minister of Malaysia.
If the RAHMAN prophesy is to hold true for the last letter "N" for RAHMAN, then Najib may NOT be the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

According to RAHMAN prophetic tradition, all future prime ministers of Malaysia AFTER the first prime minister will have the FIRST letter in their names following the name of the first Prime Minister, ie RAHMAN. What that means is that the RAHMAN prophesy will start with the SECOND Prime Minister until the 6th Prime Minister.

By convention, not by constitution, the UMNO President becomes the Prime Minister and the UMNO Deputy President becomes the Deputy Prime Minister. Prior to 1981, deputy president of UMNO is nominated by the sitting President from amongst the Vice Presidents of UMNO.

The following historical facts were evidenced that the RAHMAN prophesy played a hand in the choice of the last four prime ministers.

    1. Tunku Abdul Rahman was the first Prime Minister from 1957 to 1970. Abdul Razak was his deputy. Tunku Abdul Rahman was forced out of UMNO and had to resign from office as a result of a concerted push by the UMNO “young turks” led by his deputy, Abdul Razak after the May 13 1969 riot. There was bad blood and much acrimony in the departure of Tunku Abdul Rahman

    2. The FIRST fulfillment of RAHMAN prophesy “A” , was achieved in September 1970 with the appointment of Abdul Razak as the second Prime Minister.

    3. As President of UMNO, Abdul Razak appointed Ismail Abdul Rahman as deputy Prime Minister. If Ismail were to succeed Tun Razak as prime minister, the RAHMAN prophesy would have collapsed after the second prime minister. As fate would have it, (Tun) Ismail Abdul Rahman died in office prematurely in 1973 .

    4. . Abdul Razak had then to choose from amongst the UMNO Vice Presidents to be his deputy. By 1973, Abdul Gaffar Baba had been a Vice President of UMNO for almost 11 years. Hussein Onn was elected as UMNO Vice President only a year earlier in 1972 after he won a parliamentary seat in Johore in 1970.

    5. Instead of picking a more senior vice president, Abdul Razak picked the recently elected Vice President as his deputy. Hussein Onn became Deputy Prime Minister in August 1973.

    6. In the 1974 general election, both Abdul Razak and Hussein Onn were returned as Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister.

    7. At the 1975 UMNO General Assembly: Mahathir and Tengku Razaleigh were elected for the first time as UMNO Vice Presidents. Incumbent Abdul Ghaffar Baba was re-elected. Of the three Vice Presidents , Mahathir Mohamad won with the LEAST number of votes compared to the other two.

    8. Then fate struck again when (Tun) Abdul Razak died in office in January 1976.

    9. The SECOND fulfillment of the RAHMAN prophesy ( “H”) was achieved when Hussein Onn assumed the Prime Ministership on 14 January 1976.

    10. Hussein Onn had to pick a Deputy Prime Minister. He had wanted to appoint the then powerful Home Minister and Razak-confidante Tan Sri Ghazalie Shafie as Deputy Prime Minister, but he was not an UMNO Vice President.

    11. The three incumbent UMNO Vice Presidents, Abdul Ghafar Baba, Tengku Razaleigh and Mahathir demanded that the Deputy Prime Minister be picked from one of the three UMNO Vice Presidents : Abdul Ghaffar Baba Tengku Razaleigh, and Mahathir Mohammad.

    12. With pressure from the three Vice Presidents, Hussein Onn decided to pick the vice-president who won with the LEAST number of votes at the UMNO General Assembly, i.e. Mahathir Mohamad. According to Anthony S.K. Shome in his book Malay Political Leadership, Hussein Onn chose Mahathir “because, it is said, he wanted someone with education and maturity. Hussein’s choice of Mahathir sparked off a crisis within UMNO that was to have wide repercussions for a long time in the party. Both Razaleigh and Ghaffar Baba were deeply disappointed and the latter subsequently refused to serve in the Cabinet under any capacity.”

    13. At the 1978 general election, both Hussein Onn and Mahathir Mohamad were returned as Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister

    14. Fate decided again that Hussein Onn had to leave office prematurely for ill-health in 1981.

    15. The THIRD fulfillment of the RAHMAN prophesy (“M” ) was achieved in July 1981 when Mahathir Mohamad became Prime Minister.

    16. Mahathir Mohamad served as Prime Minister from 1981 until 2003, over 5 general elections. When he took office, he declared the UMNO Deputy President open for election ie he was not supporting any candidate. Tengku Razaleigh and Musa Hitam fought it out. Musa Hitam won and eventually became the Deputy Prime Minister.

    17. In 1986, there was a fall-out between Mahathir and Musa Hitam resulting in Musa Hitam leaving the cabinet . Abdul Ghaffar Baba was appointed and became the Deputy Prime Minister.

    18. In 1987, Tengku Razeleigh challenged Mahathir for the UMNO Presidency. If Tengku Razaleigh had won, he would have been the successor to Mahathir. The RAHMAN prophesy would have collapsed by then. It was not to be.

    19. Mahathir won the election instead but the court ruled that UMNO was illegal. Mahathir re-registered UMNO as UMNO Baru and continued to be the President of UMNO Baru and thus as Prime Minister. Abdul Ghaffar Baba continued to be the Deputy Prime Minister until 1993.

    20. In 1993 UMNO election, Anwar Ibrahim challenged Ghaffar Baba for the Deputy Presidency. Anwar Ibrahim won the UMNO Deputy Presidency and beacme the new Deputy Prime Minister.

    21. In 1998, Mahathir sacked Anwar Ibrahim as Deputy Prime Minister and expelled him from UMNO. He was subsequently charged in court under controversial circumstances for sodomy and then jailed. The position of the Deputy Prime Minister was left vacant for about 6 months.

    22. In 1999, Ahmad Abdullah Badawi was named the Deputy Prime Minister.

    23. The FOURTH fulfillment of the RAHMAN prophesy (“A”) was achieved in October 2003 when Ahmad Abdullah Badawi assumed the Prime Ministership.

    24. The Deputy Prime Minister under Ahmad Abdullah Badawi is Mohd Najib Abdul Razak, commonly called in the media as “ Najib”.

Fulfillment of the last letter “N under the RAHMAN Prophesy

For the RAHMAN prophesy to be fulfilled completely, the successor to Ahmad Abdullah Badawi has to have “N” ad his first letter in his name.

The current Deputy Prime Minister’s name is Mohd Najib Abdul Razak ie his first letter is “M”. By extension of that fact, and for the RAHMAN prophesy to hold true as it did for the last 39 years, Najib will NOT be the next Prime Minister, even if he had been elected as the President of UMNO.

The fact that Mohd Najib had been commonly called as simply Najib , thus assuming “N” as his first letter in his name does not count in the RAHMAN prophesy. For instance, Najib’s father was commonly referred to as Tun Razak. If the RAHMAN prophesy had allowed “R” to be the first letter of the name to be considered, then the RAHMAN predicted would have collapsed in 1970 when Tun Razak assumed office of the Prime Minister.

All other Deputy Prime Ministers ( with the exception of Abdul Ghaffar Baba and Anwar Ibrahim), who did not meet the conditions of the RAHMAN prophesy, FAILED to become the next Prime Minister.

    Mohd Najib Abdul Razak

The current Prime Minister, Ahmad Abdullah Badawi was expected to step down as President of UMNO following the completion of the 2009 UMNO General Assembly on 27th March 2009.

Malaysians are expecting Mohd Najib to be the next President of UMNO and by convention, he will be installed as the 6th Prime Minister.

If Mohd Najib does succeed Ahmad Abdullah Badawi as the 6th Prime Minister, then it will be the FIRST time in 39 years that the RAHMAN prophesy has failed to predict the last (6th) Prime Minister with the name starting with the letter “N” in RAHMAN.

However, as noted by Tengku Razaleigh, Dr Mahathir and other political pundits, Mohd Najib’s ascension as President of UMNO does not constitutionally require that he will be installed as the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The following events may still cause the RAHMAN prophesy to hold true after the 2009 UMNO General Assembly:
    a) Although Mohd Najib becomes the President of UMNO, Ahmad Abdullah Badawi may wish to continue to be the Prime Minister of Malaysia as provided for in the constitution until he is given a vote of no confidence in Parliament. The RAHMAN prophesy remains intact. If this is the case, this will be the first time that a President of UMNO is not automatically made the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

    b) The Yang DiPertuan Agung has the absolute discretion not to appoint Mohd Najib as the Prime Minister and he would either request Ahmad Abdullah Badawi to continue as Prime Minister until the next general election or the Agong may recall Parliament to decide on whether Mohd Najib or somebody else will be the Prime Minister.
As it stands, the RAHMAN prophesy says Mohd Najib Abdul Razak will not be the 6th Prime Minister, given it had stood the test of time of 39 years over 4 Prime Ministers and 9 Deputy Prime Ministers.

Malaysians will know in the days and weeks to come whether the RAHMAN prophesy will collapse without fulfilling the last letter “N”.

    Excerpts

Let us understand very clearly the transitional situation we are in.

    1. The incumbent Prime Minister is about to resign as he has solemnly promised to by the end of this month.

    2. On the appointed day (which like so many things in this administration remains a mystery) the Prime Minister will tender his resignation and that of his cabinet to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. With this the government of the day comes to an end.

    3. The Yang di-Pertuan Agong will appoint the next Prime Minister at his sole discretion from among the members of the elected lower house of Parliament, the Dewan Rakyat. His Majesty’s choice is guided by his own judgment of who among the members “commands the confidence” of a majority the members of parliament.

    4. The new Prime Minister will name his cabinet and form the next government.

    5. The Agong’s choice may at any time be tested by a vote of confidence in the Dewan Rakyat. If the Prime Minister is rejected by the Dewan, the King will have to re-appoint another person.
As there has been much confusion on this point let me re-state it:

The Yang Dipertuan Agong has sole and absolute discretion in how he forms his judgment as to who in the Dewan Rakyat commands the confidence of the majority.

    The choice is his alone.

The choice is absolute but not arbitrary, since it is guided by the Constitution. The right is the Agong’s alone, but it can any time afterwards be tested by the Dewan Rakyat.

This system is democratic in that it provides for the Dewan Rakyat and the Ruler to check and balance each other’s powers in an orderly manner. The participants in this process are the Ruler and the individual members of parliament.

Within the Dewan Rakyat, each member is accountable to his constituents as an individual. Political parties do not enter this description.

The Agong’s concern is solely for the rakyat. In his formal capacity, His Majesty sees each member of the House only as representing his subjects in a particular constituency.

This is why MP’s are referred to only by the constituencies they represent. Their party affiliation is no consideration at all.

Let me draw on some implications of this understanding of how our governments are formed.

Whatever undertakings the present prime minister has made with his deputy or with his party about his successor are external to the constitutional process.

To think otherwise is to imagine that the prime ministership is a private property to be passed on from one potentate to another at whim. The behaviour of some leaders might have conveyed this unfortunate impression, and caused the public to find the party arrogant and out of touch.

The fact that the President of UMNO has also been appointed as Prime Minister is only a convention, as Tun Dr Mahathir, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz have asserted recently.

This convention was based on the assumption of Umno’s absolute dominance of Parliament. That conditionNO longer holds.

Statements in the media that it is the right of Umno and BN to dictate to the Yang Dipertuan Agong who should be Prime Minister deny the constitutional right of the Yang Dipertuan Agong, and deprive him of perhaps the most important of his few discretionary powers.

Such statements turn the Agong’s role into a rubber stamp for the decisions of a political party. I am waiting for Umno to strongly denounce such statements, especially as we have recently rediscovered our concern for the rights of the Rulers.

Over the last quarter century, the rulers, like the legislature, the judiciary, the police, the universities and all our major public institutions, have had their powers systematically curtailed and their immunities removed to make way for unruly executive power.

In the process, fundamental principles such as the separation of powers have been ignored. Umno itself has not been spared this process as it has become autocratic and top-down to the dismay of millions of ordinary members.

Over time the rakyat have been so conditioned to the abuse of executive power that many have forgotten that the government is more than the prime minister and his cabinet. Many have forgotten how a properly functioning government works and what the rule of law looks like.

Perhaps this is why it is news to some that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong has an independent role to play, just as the judiciary and the legislature do.

Malaysia has fallen into a spiral of institutional and economic decline. If we are to save this country from long term and increasingly tragic deterioration, the next government appointed by the Yang di-pertuan Agong must not only be fully committed to restoring the Legislature, the Judiciary and the Rulers to their proper dignity and independence, it must be seen by the Malaysian public to be capable of doing so.

UMNO INSULTED the Malay Rulers and Najib THREATENED the Perak Sultan Triggering the Perak Crisis

    Read here article in Malaysia-Today

    by

    Raja Petra Kamarudin

    Excerpts:

Bernama reported: Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Najib Razak reminded all quarters not to twist the facts of history in recounting Umno's action to amend the law with regard to the Malay rulers.

In his speech when simultaneously opening the Wanita Umno, Youth and Puteri Delegates' Conference 2008 at the Putra World Trade Centre, here, tonight, Najib said, "It was never done in bad faith, but rather with the noble intention of preserving the royal institution and upholding the doctrine of the separation of powers which is the basis of any democratic government."

Now it is very clear. Umno insulted the Rulers, dragged them through the mud, defiled them, stripped them naked, and left them with absolutely no dignity back in the 1980s, not to destroy the institution of the Monarchy, but to save it.

Let’s call a spade a spade, as Tun Ghazali Shafie was fond of saying. Umno declared war on the Rulers. And they brought the Rulers down through a smear campaign and by using the mainstream media to spin lies. No doubt, some of what they published was true. But much of what they spun was downright lies.

In the 1980s, when Umno attacked the Rulers, the opposition rallied to the Rulers’ side.

So what crap is Najib talking about?

    Umno was Treasonous

Going by the ‘old laws’, heads would have rolled. Umno and its leaders declared war on the Rulers.

When it lost the first time around in the early 1980s, Umno retreated, and after a new strategy was implemented, came back for a second round in the late 1980s and finished what it started a few years earlier.

    The 2009 Perak Crisis

In the beginning, the Sultan of Perak was actually not in favour of sacking Nizar. When Nizar had his audience with the Sultan, His Highness was actually quite receptive to the idea of dissolving the State Assembly so that new state elections could be held.

But His Highness got cold feet after Najib visited him and reminded Tuanku that he would be jeopardising his throne if he took Pakatan Rakyat’s side in the Perak Constitutional Crisis.

Yes, that’s right. Najib threatened the Sultan and reminded His Highness that his future lies in the hands of Umno. And Najib has the gall to say that Umno is the defender of the crown.

    Bullshit! I know what happened.

Sure, today, Umno says it is the defender of the crown. But if the Sultan of Perak had held his ground and had refused to sack Nizar and replace him with Zambry, would Umno still sing this tune or would Umno, again, take the Rulers through a third Constitutional Crisis like it did in the 1980s?

And that is why I spoke in defence of the Sultan of Perak -- and many Malaysia Today readers whacked me because of that. But I also asked Nizar to hold his ground and not back down even if it results in a Constitutional Crisis.

How UMNO Created a Dictatorship and then Demonised the Monarchy

If Najib wants to talk about history then let me take Najib down memory lane and teach him a bit about Malaysian history.

Prior to (the Constitutional Crisis of the 1980s) Malaysia was in a unique situation of having four branches of government -- the Executive (the Prime Minister), the Legislature (Parliament), the Judiciary, and the Monarchy. Each of the four was independent of one another but worked in tandem.

And this makes Malaysia unique because most countries have three. Malaysia, however, has four, the fourth being the Monarchy.

Not long after Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad became Prime Minister, Umno decided it would eliminate the four branches of government and replace it with only one -- the Executive. This means Malaysia will retain the trappings of a democracy but in actual fact would become a dictatorship.

    1. First to go was Parliament. That is why Barisan Nasional is so paranoid about losing its two-thirds majority in Parliament. Without the two-thirds majority, Barisan Nasional can’t control Parliament. With the two-thirds majority in Parliament they can scream and shout at the opposition and tell the Chinese and Indians to go back to China and India.

    2. Next to suffer was the Judiciary. When the judges demonstrated independence, they were sacked or placed in cold storage or demoted (by transferring them to the Makhamah Dagang at Wisma Denmark where they spend the rest of their career listening to unpaid credit card cases). We saw that happen also in the 1980s.

    3. That left only one institution that needed to be clipped. And that institution was the Monarchy. So the Constitutional Crisis was triggered in the 1980s, twice, and the last independent branch of government hit the dirt.

And this new strategy that Umno adopted was to disgrace and smear the Rulers to the point that the rakyat rose up in anger and demanded that the Monarchy be abolished and Malaysia get turned into a republic.

That was how successful Umno’s campaign of hate was. They succeeded in getting the rakyat disgusted enough to want to sack the Rulers and declare the Prime Minister Malaysia’s first President.

      For example:

      • They (UMNO) showed photographs of the Sultan of Selangor’s so-called lavish palace on a hill in Penang that was actually the home of a Chinese towkay.

      • They showed photographs of the Sultan of Kedah’s so-called lavish mansion by the sea in Northam Road overlooking the sea in Penang that was actually Rumah Kedah -- which was for the use of any Kedah civil servant who visited Penang.

      • They accused the Sultan of Kelantan of evading tax on the car he imported whereas the Sultan did not evade tax since he was exempted from tax anyway, according to the Kelantan State Constitution.

      • And so on and so forth. And there was much more lies that Umno spun -- which the rakyat believed to be true and which resulted in the rakyat becoming disgusted with the Rulers to the point they wanted the Monarchy abolished and Malaysia transformed into a republic.
The Monarchy never recovered from this 1980s attack that it suffered.

Until today, the Rulers still remember how dangerous it is to cross Umno. And if Umno says it wants the opposition government sacked and the Pakatan Rakyat Menteri Besar replaced with a Barisan Nasional Menteri Besar, the Rulers would NEVER dare say NO.

Let’s call a spade a spade. It was the Opposition that defended the Monarchy in the 1980s when Umno attacked it. That is a fact that has gone down into history.

And history can’t be changed. You can rewrite history. But you can never change it.

And I challenge Najib to prove wrong what I said.

ALLAH's Representative in Malaysian Parliament on Islamic Jihad Mission: Proposed Amendments to Federal Constitution

Zulkifli Noordin is using his position as PKR MP to undertake his "personal crusade" or his JIHAD mission to amend the Federal Constitution on the status of Islam. (Read below)

As far as we know, Zulkifli Noordin (PKR MP, Kulim-Bandar Baru) was NOT elected or nominated by ALLAH to sit in the Malaysian Federal Parliament.

Nor did his or Pakatan Rakyat's campaign slogan in the lead up to 8 March 2008 election was to send him to Parliament to fight for the rights and privileges of Allah.

He was not even a PAS candidate, for crying out loud.

But we do know that Zulkifli Noordin was voted in by a multi-racial and multi-religious constituency for Parti KeAdilan Rakyat under the PAKATAN RAKYAT banner, following the massive rejection of UMNO/BN's racially and religiously bigoted policies over the last 50 years.

Zulkifli Noordin is supposed to be a Member of Parliament FIRST AND FOREMOST, and as a Muslim, second, not the other way round.

Voters in Kulim-Bandar Baru did NOT send him to Federal Parliament to be ALLAH's Representative. His task in Parliament is to look after the earthly interests of his VOTERS in Kulim-Bandar Baru, not ALLAH's.

And the Malaysian Parliament is NOT the place for him to pursue, in his own words, "his personal crusade" to fight for Allah's rights and responsibilities.

We also know that ALLAH has more than enough supporters in the Islamic world to protect His rights and privileges on earth and elsewhere.

It is time for Anwar Ibrahim and Parti KeAdilan Rakyat to bring Zulkifli Noordin to task for continuing his uncalled-for jihad in Parliament and on the streets as he did so during the rowdy demonstration at the Bar Council forum last year.

We stress the fact that Malaysians did NOT give their precious votes to PAKATAN RAKYAT or Parti KeAdilan Rakyat for its representatives to sit in the Federal Parliament to fight for Allah, God, Jehovah, Guru Nanak, Jesus Christ, Buddha or Lord Krishna's rights and privileges for that matter.

Malaysians who voted for Pakatan Rakyat now is fully convinced that Zulkifli Noordin has forfeited the mandate given to him to be THEIR representative in Parliament.

Zulkifli Noordin should resign from Parliament so that he can peacefully become a Muslim FIRST to pursue his personal jihad in other more appropriate forum.

The Double Face of PKR MP Zulkifli Noordin

(Elected by Voters of all Religions but became self-appointed Allah's Representative in the Federal Parliament)

    QUOTE:

" For ME , Islam comes FIRST. "

" (I am)a Muslim FIRST, a Member of Parliament, SECOND."

" We Muslims have been tolerant enough all this while, for so many years we have been asked, forced to live under the law that is not Islam. We have been forced."

"It is my personal jihad to uphold the right of Muslims to profess and practise their Islamic religion. If I have to die in doing so, then I'm more than happy to give my soul for that struggle. It is my jihad to do so.

I'm nothing but an instrument of Allah to achieve just that."

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Member of Parliament (MP) Zulkifli Noordin has tried to move four motions in Parliament to amend the Federal Constitution regarding the status of Islam.

The first motion is to amend Article 3(1) to: "Islam is the religion of the Federation, including in terms of laws and legislation."

The second motion proposes to amend Article 4(1) to: "This Constitution is the supreme law of the Federation and, except for Islamic laws and legislation, any law passed after Merdeka Day which is inconsistent with this Constitution shall, to the extent of the inconsistency, be void."

The third motion proposes to amend Article 11(1) to: "Every person has the right to profess and practise his religion, including changing his religion except for those adhering to Islam who must be subject to Islamic laws and legislation. To define those who adhere to Islam, the question of conversion to or apostasy from Islam must be determined by the syariah courts, which have absolute authority over the matter."

The fourth motion is to amend the Ninth Schedule, List 2(1) to expand the powers of the syariah courts to try, judge and sentence non-conforming Muslims in accordance to Islamic laws and legislation.

In this motion, Zulkifli also asks for the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965 to be amended accordingly.

In an interview with Nutgraph website, MP Zulkifli Noordin, who was elected under the Pakatan Rakyat banner by a multi-religious and multi-racial constituency, said,

" Those motions PERSONAL crusade. I don't even know what is PKR's stand on this issue. I do wish that PKR would make a very clear stand.

I believe in this verse: "If you assist Allah in His religion, He will assist you and put you in a firm position." (Al Quran, Surah Muhammad, Verse 30).

It is my personal jihad to uphold the right of Muslims to profess and practise their Islamic religion. And I will do so to my last breath. If I have to die in doing so, then I'm more than happy to give my soul for that struggle. It is my jihad to do so.

The big question that Muslims are asking now is, can we have our lives as Muslims back? And I'm nothing but an instrument of Allah to achieve just that — we Muslims just want our lives back."
He is also trying to move 16 other motions, some of which involve elevating the status of Islam, but these do not entail constitutional amendments.

These motions were published in the Dewan Rakyat's Order Paper, dated 16 March 2009.

However, PKR vice-president R Sivarasa dismissed concerns about the controversial MP's motions, and told The Nut Graph: "These are Zulkifli's personal views — the party doesn't endorse those views."

As of 16 March, Zulkifli's motions were listed at the bottom of 65 motions being moved in Parliament.

Zulkifli was a prominent participant in the 300-strong demonstration against the Bar Council forum Conversion to Islam on 9 Aug 2008, together with others from PKR, PAS, Umno and various Muslim non-governmental organisations.

He was given a show cause letter by his party on 7 Sept 2008, but publicly refused to apologise for his actions.

After delaying action on Zulkifli for months, PKR deputy president Syed Husin Ali said on 5 March 2009 that the matter had been "settled internally" some time in 2008. Syed Husin declined, however, to elaborate on how the matter was settled.

MAHATHIR'S Racist Agenda to Continue his Dynasty in UMNO

Read here article in STOCKTUBE website

In a “You Scratch my Back and I Scratch your Back” agreement, the people may see Mahathir dynasty after the Razak dynasty completed the cycle.

Mahathir does not have much time to waste and his primary focus now is to ensure Abdullah vacates his seat for Najib who in return have to make sure Mahathir’s own son, Mukhriz Mahathir, secured the UMNO Youth Chief position in order to springboard the junior to probably the premiership in not so distance future.

Mahathirism is set to come back and it will be back with vengeance.

The old former dictator has enough of the so-called retirement. There’s much work to be done to ensure his dynasty continues to prosper and take over the throne after Najib Razak completed his premiership as to the R.A.H.M.A.N political prophecy.

For the first time ever the country’s economy has to take the back seat despite the recession sweeping the country with thousands more to lose their jobs in months to come.

But who cares about this low-class of people? The survival of a handful of powerful warlords and their descendants are the top priorities.

The stock market won’t go any worst than the 1997-1998 Economic Crisis because most of the blue-chips are in controlled. Heck, the foreign investors have already dumped their holdings or maybe they’ve not actually return the same way pre-1997 crisis.

The coming UMNO general assembly will probably goes down the history as the fiercest and racist of all. And if you think the previous assemblies where the cousin of PM-coming-to-town Najib Razak, Education Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, was the most disgusted of all with all those keris-waving asking for bloods then you have not seen the ugliest side of UMNO.

To debate on economic challenges during such trying time in UMNO general assembly is like asking them why Proton cars still have power-window problem after more than two decades in automobile production. They’re simply clueless on this topic so be prepare for more temperature-rising racial cards to be played throughout the assembly.

And former PM Mahathir has just set the tone on what to expect from the delegates and leaders from UMNO. At a gathering organized by Malay group Perkasa, Mahathir started the ball-rolling by warning the ethnic-Malays that they could lose their political power *yawn* because of threat from “various parties”.

Although the writing was on the wall that Mahathir was the architect that adopted the “divide and rule” policy that successfully separated the ethnic-Malay, Chinese and Indian so that they are suspicious of each other for as long as it takes, Mahathir is a person who seldom admits his past mistake.

His policy was liken to apartheid but the old man who was labeled as senile once denied but instead diverted the blame on others such as the Chinese educationist group Dong Jiao Zong (DJZ) as racist instead.

But what do you expect from a person who only thinks highly of himself (not even his own sons) as if he was the Great Pharaoh of Malaysia?

Mahathir, under which the cronyism, corruption and nepotism flourished under his 22-year iron-fist administration and are still very much alive and kicking till today is playing his infamous racial card again for obvious reason.

His UMNO Baru (current UMNO party) is dying a natural death since Mar 2008 General Election. For the first time, the ethnic-Malay, Chinese and Indians have all voted in favor of opposition parties in the last general election in retaliation to the worsening corruption practiced by UMNO and their component parties.

Outgoing PM Abdullah Badawi might be one of the reasons voters voted out the arrogant BN coalition but he was the direct production of Mahathir’s assembly-line in churning out low quality leaders. His preferred choice of Najib Razak was met with oppositions from all walks of life, some in silence and some openly because this PM-in-waiting is tainted with not only corruptions but also murder – in reference to Mongolian Altantuya.

It’s puzzling that Mahathir never talk about Altantuya’s case in relation to Najib in public as if he was trying very hard avoiding the disastrous topic.

In a “You Scratch my Back and I Scratch your Back” agreement, the people may see Mahathir dynasty after the Razak dynasty completed the cycle. But that can only happen if the voters think UMNO has changed for the betterment of the people instead of their own cronies.

The coming UMNO assembly also may witness the return of former finance minister Daim Zainuddin besides Mahathir as special advisors who would influence the country’s policies. It would be fun to see Mukhriz wave the keris (dagger) in imitation to the previous actor, Hishammuddin Hussein. The question is whether Abdullah Badawi’s son-in-law, Khairi, will allow his competitor to do that first.

The racial card was being used with great success in the past and basically every UMNO leaders you see today has play that game in one way or another. But that was before the explosion of internet and blogging. It cannot be denied that the majority of Malay voters who voted against UMNO in the general election were the educated youngsters who read the “truth” from the net.

Mahathir is playing a losing racial game if he thinks he can rally this important group of Malay youngsters to back UMNO as the ultimate party in ruling the government forever. Nevertheless if you believe what some fortune-tellers are saying about Mahathir to live till the ripe age of 88-years-old, Mukhriz Mahathir has to secure the Youth Chief comes rain or shine else without his grand old daddy the junior may just ended up as another UMNO ordinary member.

With police force, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), Election Commission, Judiciary and to some extent even the Royalty deeply entrenched in the “UMNO Culture”, chances are higher for Mahathir dynasty to become a reality than to have opposition coalition (PR) taking over the federal government.

If you think a sleepy and mumbling Badawi government is bad enough, wait till you experience once again the dictator government of Razak (Najib) and Mahathirism. The combination of the Three Musketeers Najib-Mahathir-Daim would blow all aspects of democracy to pieces. The opposition parties that control the states of Selangor, Kedah, Kelantan, Penang have better enjoy what they’re doing now to the fullest because they may not to see their administration lasts till the next general election.

But the part that we will miss the most is the Master of Keris-Waving episode of which former Youth Chief Hishammuddin Hussein has repeatitively used in barbaric way as if asking for bloods.

He's retiring from UMNO Youth and is expected to tone down his act of playing with the weapon.

Malay right-wing group Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa today threatened that it would react to the actions of those who chose to question Malay supremacy.

President Datuk Ibrahim Ali said that for the sake of "the country, race and religion, I am willing to be detained under the Internal Security Act" should Malay rights be challenged.

The Malay nationalist politician warned non-Malays to behave, if not then Malays would repay in kind.

"If they are polite, we will be polite. But if they are not, neither will we. If they are kurang ajar (ill-mannered), we too can be kurang ajar," said the Pasir Mas MP to cheers from the thousand-strong crowd.

Ibrahim as president of Perkasa had last year also called on other races to adapt to the local culture of Malays as they have already been given many rights and freedoms in this country.

Today, he added that those who questioned the issue of the special position of Malays were not acting in the name of justice.

"The truth is that justice has not yet come to Bumiputeras who have spent centuries being oppressed by colonial masters," he said.

The former Umno leader said that in the past, Malays had been reasonable with the colonial masters but that they would not tolerate "our heads being stepped on."

"We will not tolerate Bumiputeras losing face or our honour. Especially Malays and Islam, do not ever try to play around with these," he threatened.

    UMNO - Adrift and Leaderless

    Quote

"Umno rarely listens or consults beyond the privileged circle of party activists.

Carpet-baggers, thugs and jokers now throng the party's ranks. They (and their families) are deliberately excluding many thousands of professional and educated Malays who want to get involved in public life.

Over the past twelve months Umno has not shown itself either ready or willing to face up to its myriad challenges."

    Change is Inevitable

    Excerpts

March 8 marks the first anniversary of Malaysia's epoch-making polls.

The level of political risk in Malaysia has for the first time in recent history exceeded that of Indonesia.

Malaysia is still locked in the past. Power remains centralized: the winners are lauded and can do no wrong while the losers’ are vilified.

Moreover such is the disregard for democracy and the 'spirit' of the nation’s respective Constitutions, that even genuine electoral results are suborned and reversed - the ouster of the pro-Thaksin administration in Thailand last year and the depressing sequence of events in Perak.

With the economic downturn adding a layer of complexity, the legitimacy and survivability of current systems of governance is questionable.

As I said, there's no guarantee that the present political systems in the region or, perhaps more importantly, the elites they've engendered will survive history's depredations.

In Malaysia, it's clear that the dominant political party, Umno cannot remain idle.

Its competitors for the Malay vote, the Islamist PAS and the more moderate, racially-inclusive PKR are gaining ground.

Umno is fast discovering that the politics of development is no longer sufficient. Voter expectations have risen. People want improved public services, cheaper utilities and a more caring leadership, all of which are an anathema to a political and administrative machine that's unused to dialogue and focused almost entirely on the provision of infrastructural hardware.

In short, Umno tells the people what they need. It rarely listens or consults beyond the privileged circle of party activists.

Umno must come to terms with reality - popular sentiment is dynamic and unforgiving. Moreover political parties are neither destined nor fated to lead. Past achievements and former glories amount to very little in the face of mounting expectations from increasingly well-educated and demanding voters - especially during periods of economic uncertainty.

Sadly, over the past twelve months Umno has not shown itself either ready or willing to face up to its myriad challenges. Indeed the party's substandard performance in the two by-elections - Permatang Pauh and Kuala Terengganu - reinforces a growing sense that Umno is leaderless and adrift.

The party appears to have failed to grasp the basic fact of contemporary political life that the voter is king. Perhaps what Umno’s leadership needs is not so much new thinking but rather some simple common sense.

The grand old party of Merdeka with its noble traditions and genuine service culture has simply lost steam. Carpet-baggers, thugs and jokers now throng the party's ranks.

Moreover, they (and their families) are deliberately excluding many thousands of professional and educated Malays who want to get involved in public life, forcing the latter to turn to the welcoming embrace of Pas and PKR.

As one former Umno leader explained, "Karim, they've lost faith in themselves."

The impending departure of Abdullah Badawi has become a convenient fig leaf for the party's leadership who now blame the outgoing premier for all failings. Whilst there is some truth in their arguments - Abdullah's 'laissez faire' leadership did indeed expose Umno's weaknesses- the continuing refusal of the party's leadership to acknowledge their own complicity is worrying.

At the same time, there has also been a sense that the nation's character has altered.

Voting patterns have changed. Neat racial stereotypes have been rejected - witness the way non-Malays swung behind PAS and countless urban Malays deserted Umno by voting for PKR and even the predominantly ethnic Chinese DAP - perhaps forever.

In the final analysis Umno has two options. Firstly, it can endeavour to turn the clock back on events and deny the growing demands for greater social and political freedoms as well as the attendant push for greater transparency and accountability.

This strategy could well succeed for a certain period of time - however it will definitely lead to a tremendous backlash that will in turn destroy the very fabric of our fragile multi-racial society.

Let us not forget that 2009 also represents the 30th anniversary of the downfall of the Shah of Iran and the ascension of the Ayatollah Khomeni.

Instead of an atavistic return to the Mahathir-era, Umno must reform both itself and the government before it is too late. The party is worth saving and must be saved. Cool heads must prevail in this unavoidable process.

Change is inevitable and as I've said, we are not alone in facing these challenges. After decades of real peace and prosperity the current Malaysian elite must face up to these demands unless they wish to be swept away by the inexorable tide of history.
