The "MAMAK" Says Malay Leaders and RACIST Ahmad Ismail Should NOT Apologise for Saying Chinese Malaysians are "Squatters"

UPDATE
Nothing Wrong for UMNO Leaders to Apologise, Says Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz

Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz said there is nothing wrong with Umno leaders apologising on behalf of members who had hurt the feelings of the minority races, as the Malays were the "big brother" in the country."There is no harm in saying sorry. Even if anyone from the other communities (Chinese or Indians) had in the past gone overboard, two wrongs do not make one right."

Stating that the Malays should take the lead, he added that such apologies did not make the leaders weak. Datuk Seri Nazri disagreed with Dr. Mahathir, referring to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's statement in his blog http://www.chedet.com/ titled "Pohon Maaf and Pohon Maaf (2)"

Datuk Seri Nazri said Ahmad Ismail must be responsible for the racial remarks he made in public and he should face the Umno disciplinary board if he refused to do so.

"It is sad that (Ahmad Ismail) had dragged the whole Penang Umno into his own personal problem. Ahmad Ismail is not a history teacher. Is calling the non-Malays squatters in Malaysia's history?" he questioned, adding that he would be bringing up the matter with the Umno Supreme Council.

Mahathir Kept Hidden His Little Secret - The Indian Muslim

Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad started life NOT as a Malay but a Malayali -the people of Kerala in south INDIA, where his father came from.

At university in Singapore, Mahathir was listed as an INDIAN.

Perhaps this explains why Mahathir became MORE Malay than many Malays, all the while pursuing a politics which had scant time for Malay instincts for consensus and compromise.

(Note: Mahathir was born and named as Mahathir s/o Iskandar Kutty @Mahathir Mohamed (read here) . Mahathir's father, (Iskandar Kutty) was a school teacher of Indian origin, specifically Malayalee (people who speak Malayalam), NOT to be confused with Malay, having migrated from the southern state of Kerala, while his mother was a Malay. -Malaysian Unplug)

Mahathir is full of paradoxes on racial issues. Many of his policies have had the effect of reducing the racial element in government decisions, watering down the agenda to advance MALAY interests. As a result he is well regarded by many in the CHINESE business community.

Mahathir has been quick to promote himself as the embodiment of "Asian" identity and values, with diatribes against the west, usually couched in racial terms.

Yet, despite his trumpeting of Asian identity, Mahathir appears ASHAMED to admit his Indian heritage.

In his new book, A New Deal for Asia, he writes about his father in such a way as to imply that he was a Malay dedicated to the improvement of his fellow Malays rather than the hard-working Indian immigrant and government servant that he was.

No mention of Mahathir's Indian Muslim background ever appears in the media. The subject is taboo.

The TRUE Ethnic Malay Culture and Social Graces - Adat Melayu Yang Halus

The ethnic Malays are a race known for its rich traditional values and habits.

Islamic values are embedded in Malay Culture. The ethnic Malay culture emphasises values on COURTESY, MODERATION, TOLERANCE, HARMONY and CORDIAL RELATIONS among family members, neighbours and community.

Visitors to an ethnic Malay household are treated with RESPECT as a token of hospitality.

Light snacks and drinks will be offered and to refuse them would be impolite.

In the olden days, hosts are expected to offer sekapur sireh (a preparation of sireh leaves stored in a box to be eaten with a thin layer of slaked lime, gambier and slices of the areca nut.) Today this custom is only practised by those living in the villages. Visitors are also expected to dress decently and be well-mannered when visiting. Read here for more and here

Dr M: Why must Malay leaders say sorry?

Read here on Malaysian Bar website

Dr Mahathir Mohamad has questioned why Malay leaders were apologising over a remark deemed as racist by an Umno leader.

He said non-Malay leaders never apologised when similar racist remarks were made by members of their community.

The former prime minister said in his blog (www.chedet.com) the Malays were so scared of being labelled racist that they even wrote in Malay papers that the Malays were not racists.

He was referring to the apology by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak made on behalf of Umno over a racist statement by Bukit Bendera Umno division chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail.

He cited the case of the Hindu Right Action Front, he said so many allegations including Islamist extremism and ethnic cleansing were hurled against the Malays.
